Students in kindergarten recently learned about width and height by creating some adorable penguins. After the artwork was finished, students measured their penguins and recorded the results. The finished products are now decorating our halls. Great work, students!

CONGRATULATIONS to students who were nominated as a November Student of the Month! (Yes, this is late... we were waiting for permission to post all pictures.) These students were selected because they exhibit integrity. This quality is a trait that will carry them far in life and we are so very proud of them. Pictured are 3rd-5th grade students.

Even 4th graders can help their community! During an ELA unit, students brainstormed ideas to assist their community. They chose the Hillsdale County Medical Care Facility. “Warm Their Souls (Soles). We have a treasure trove of donations! Items like fuzzy socks, blankets, chapstick and lotion. Students also made Christmas cards and ornaments to donate to each resident. Our generous 4th graders and their families know that it is so much more rewarding to give than to receive. Comet Pride, community wide!

From Williams Elementary: Mrs. Snyder's 3rd grade class participated in a STEM challenge from author Sandra Markle with the help from Mrs. Warner. The kids completed a mystery spot challenge to figure out what colors make up the color black. They used chromatography to create art! They were able to discover that black was made up of MANY other colors. Because of their hard work the students were entered into a competition and they WON! Sandra Markle sent the class a gift in the mail to celebrate their success.

Jonesville Community Schools would like to extend our thanks and gratitude to the Jonesville Police Department for their work on the recent break-ins and vandalism at JCS. I know Director Etter and Sergeant Albright put in extra hours to help put a stop to it and it paid off. Thank you!!!
