What’s Happening at Williams Elementary

Weekly Update for 9.13.21

  • Our students will begin to take NWEA assessments this week so that we can get some baseline data to help us determine the best teaching strategies for them. We are super excited to begin this year’s journey of growth with them!  Please make sure they get a good night’s sleep this week and a nutritious breakfast.

  • If you have not done so, please be sure to send in the technology insurance fee ($20) and the agreement form to school with your child. The insurance fee needs to be paid before your child will be allowed to take their electronic device home.

  • SUPER IMPORTANT: We still need to collect the blue Free and Reduced-Price Meal applications from families, even though lunch is free for all students this year. This information is critical in determining the amount of State and Federal funding that I school will receive for instructional supports, non-instructional services such as counseling & social work, professional learning, parent and community engagement supplies, and technology, among other possible items. All information submitted is confidential. Without your assistance in completing and returning these applications, our school cannot maximize the use of available State and Federal funds. If  you need any assistance completing these forms, please contact the office. We would be more than happy to help you.

  • Our students have been working hard preparing pieces for our booth at the Hillsdale County Fair. Our booth will be in the Education Building and it will be ready for everyone to view beginning Monday, September 27th.

  • At this time, the weather report is calling for temperatures to be in the 80’s a few days this week. We know that most children bring a water bottle with them daily, however, we want to remind you to please be sure that your child(ren) brings a water bottle with them.

  • Please remind your child that our lunch menu could change from what it says.  We are experiencing some difficulty with supply and demand.  Things don’t always make it on time even when we are ordering them way ahead of time.

  • Most importantly, the students and staff are getting in our routines and we plan to have many successes to share out!  Stay tuned Comets!
