Week of November 1, 2021

  • We want to take a moment to thank John Zinser and Alyssa Allwardt for their efforts in recognizing our staff Wednesday. They put together an Apple Bar with apples and various toppings for all staff to enjoy.

  • Students had a fun time on Friday as teachers held their Halloween parties. We enjoyed seeing so many cute, fun, and creative costumes.

  • Please take time each day to ask your child(ren) “What did you learn at school today?” You could ask them specifically about math, language arts/reading/writing, science, social studies, or their enhancement class for the day. Our hope is that all students learn at least one new thing each day.

  • At the end of each month, all classrooms have a chance to win an experience for their classroom.  Students increase their chances by earning Comet PRIDE tickets.  Each month we draw 8 tickets for different classes to participate in an experience.  The experiences for the month of October were:  Hayride, Pumpkin Carving, Donuts & Cider, or a Fall Hike.

  • As colder weather is approaching we ask that your child(ren) dress appropriately to be outside for 30 minutes.  If the temperature outside is 50 degrees or lower, we require students to have a coat on.  If you need help securing warm weather clothing, please contact your child’s teacher or the office as we do have items available that your child(ren) can have.

  • Planning ahead for Thanksgiving: We will have a half-day of school on Wednesday, November 24th. Students will be dismissed at 11:30 am.

Ongoing Reminders:

  • If your child is not feeling well, they should not come to school. Please be sure to contact Mrs. Van Kampen to excuse the absence.   cvankampen@jonesvilleschools.org or 517-849-9175 & press 3.

  • Thank you for your patience with dismissal and helping us to make sure that our students (your child(ren) are as safe as possible.
