What's Happening at Williams Weekly Update

What’s Happening at Williams Week of 1-9-2023

  • We have had some inquiries about unexcused absences lately so we’d like to remind everyone of our attendance policy.

  • Parents/guardians must let the school know of any excusable absence in writing, by email or by a phone call to the main office within two school days of an absence to have it excused.

  • Parents/guardians may excuse up to five absences for any reason.  After five absences, students will be required to bring an acceptable form to excuse their absence (doctor’s slip/court document/etc.)

  • Attendance letters are sent home when a student has reached five or more unexcused absences and again if the student has seven or more unexcused absences.  If a student reaches ten or more unexcused absences, a third letter will be sent home.  At this point, an attendance report will be submitted to Hillsdale County Juvenile Court’s truancy officer for further proceedings.

  • As a reminder during drop off: Please make sure that your child is ready to exit the vehicle with hats, gloves, bags ready. We want to make sure that the flow of traffic is moving as quickly as possible to get vehicles out of the road.

  • The next PTA meeting will be held Tuesday, January 10th at 6:00 pm in the library here at Williams.

  • It was great to have the students back in the building this week!  We missed them!
