From Williams Elementary School:
Today students in grades 4 & 5 were treated to live opera music during lunch!
Two students from Hillsdale College who are studying music presented a lunchtime performance, including songs from 3 different operas. The students were impressed by the number of languages that the singers could sing in, along with their vocal ranges.

Jonesville Community Schools would like to thank Ryan Scheetz from ABC Challenge for the $400 donation! Our kids competed in the challenge which is a one and a half mile obstacle course that includes climbing, crawling through mud, sliding, and problem solving. Williams Elementary had some of the most participants. Go Comets and thank you ABC Challenge!

From Williams Elementary:
Michigan Representative Andrew Fink talked with the 4th grade students today about government and his duties as a Representative.
Thank you Representative Fink for visiting our school!

Comet Community! I have posted the facility assessment from Elite on our homepage. It's an icon right on the front. If you go to page 15 on the assessment it gives you cliffs notes and key (P1, P2, etc.) for the entire assessment. The following pages provide detail. I will be sending out a survey some time next week to get your feedback on what you all see as priorities.
Have a great Thanksgiving!

From Williams Elementary:
Due to technical difficulties, report cards will be sent home with students on Monday, November 21st.

Good evening Comet families! I’m reaching out to you tonight to let you know that school will resume tomorrow, Thursday the 17th.
JCS was fortunate that some of the systems we utilize were/are separate from the Jackson County ISD. We will continue to monitor diligently though.
I thank you for your patience and look forward to seeing staff and students tomorrow. Go Comets!
Erik Weatherwax
Superintendent, Jonesville Community Schools

Good evening,
Over the weekend, our technology consortium suffered a systems outage. The outage affected critical operating systems in the district, including but not limited to heating, telephones, and classroom technology. Jackson County ISD technology staff is working to fully investigate the disruptions and to restore affected systems.
Because this will take some time, superintendents from both Jackson and Hillsdale counties have determined the best course of action is to close schools for tomorrow, Monday, November 14, 2022.
We understand the difficulties this decision may cause, and appreciate your understanding and patience as our technology team works around the clock to get our systems back online and our students back in school. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
Sincerely,
Erik Weatherwax
Superintendent, Jonesville Community Schools

Students from Mrs. Hardway's 4th grade classroom and Mrs. Rogers' 5th grade classroom were able to carve pumpkins as part of our PBIS Classroom Acknowledgment system.
The students did a wonderful job and the pumpkins were on display in front of the school for all to see.
