Athletic update:

Yesterday, the Comets were competing in the girls softball district at Homer, the boys baseball district at Hanover-Horton, and at the D3 State Track finals at Kent City.

The softball team lost their first game in a very competitive contest to Quincy, 8-5

The baseball team won their first game in a nailbiter, 1-0 over Quincy. In the championship game, the team earned a 8-3 win over Hanover-Horton to win the District Championship. The Comets will play in Centreville against Centreville on Wednesday, June 3, at 5:00 in the regional semifinal.

The boys track and field team placed 18th overall, and posted some excellent performances and huge PRs. The top performance of the day belonged to the 4x800 who were STATE CHAMPS in a time of 8:01.99! The team of Caleb Blonde, Collin Fucile, Ashton Potwin and Nick Fowler led throughout and won on a huge kick from Fowler. Reece Rundquist also posted some early performances, finishing 17th in HJ and 21st in the 110 hurdles. In the afternoon finals, the 4x2 (Harrison Packer, Donovan Baker, Mason Jordan and Logan Stanton) placed 15th in a new PR of 1:32.8. Caleb Blonde was All-State in the 800, finishing 3rd, while teammate Nick Fowler finished 13th. Collin Fucile was 15th in the 3200, and the 4x400 (Blonde, Briggs Baker, Packer and Stanton) finished off the day with a 13th place finish in 3:32.

Sun Meals Summer Meal Program begins Tuesday, June 9th!!

This program provides free, nutritious meals all summer long to children 18 years and younger. You do not have to be a student of Jonesville Community Schools. USDA Updated Guidelines state that a parent or guardian must pick-up the meals, permission slips not allowed.

Athletic update for Tuesday, May 19:

This is in regards to the Cascade Conference Track meet scheduled for May 19. Due to weather concerns for Tuesday afternoon/evening and tomorrow being the only day for this event to occur, the start times have been adjusted as follows:
9:30am - gates open
10:00am - field events and 4x800
11:30am - running finals (no prelims)

For those attending, please enter through the high school's main entrance and park in the lower three areas of the main parking lot. Directly behind the high school and in front of the new athletic complex is reserved for those who have handicapped placards/license plates. The area behind the high school can also be a drop off area if needed and then go to one of the lower areas of the main parking lot after the drop off.

The cost for entrance into the event is $5. We accept cash, credit card, Jonesville family passes, Jonesville adult passes, Cascades Conference passes, and senior passes. Senior citizens are free as are children 5 and under.

Please join us Sunday, May 3, 2026 the dedication ceremony for our new athletic complex. The ceremony will begin at 3 p.m. at the stadium behind the high school. There will be remarks from school leadership, recognition of the donors' family and a formal ribbon- cutting ceremony. This event is open to the public. We hope to see you all there!

Athletic update for Tuesday, 4/28/26:

The varsity softball team will make up their rainout games from yesterday against Hanover-Horton on Wednesday, April 29, at 4:00 at home.

The varsity baseball team will make up their rainout games from yesterday against Hanover-Horton on May 8 at 4:00 in Hanover-Horton. The team will be on the road due a home JV doubleheader already scheduled for May 8.

Athletic update for Thursday, April 23:

The girls soccer team will be making up their match from yesterday's weather cancellation. The team will be leaving today at 4:00 to head to Michigan Center to resume their match with play resuming at 5:30. The Comets were down 2-0 with 5:00 to go in the first half.

The varsity baseball team will be making up their baseball game 2 from yesterday's weather cancellation on May 4. The team will head back to Grass Lake and resume play at 4:00. The Comets were down 4-0 in the top of the 3rd inning.

Update

Athletic update for today, April 13.

The varsity softball and varsity baseball games that were suspended this evening due to weather against Michigan Center will be made up tomorrow at 4:30 from their point of suspension. There will be no entrance charge for this.

The varsity soccer game that was suspended this evening against Leslie at half time will be considered a complete game since the first half was completed. The score was tied 0-0.

The middle school track meet that was suspended this evening will not be made up.

Today's home middle school track meet will be held at the new track facility directly behind the high school. We will have Napoleon and Hanover-Horton as our competition.

The varsity softball and baseball teams have doubleheaders at home today against Michigan Center. First game starts at 4:00.

The girls soccer team also plays at home today against Leslie. Game time is 5:30.

As a reminder, Jonesville Community Schools is charging for our spring home events with the same guidelines as we did in the fall and the winter.

Today the varsity baseball and softball teams are making up their canceled games from yesterday. They travel to Napoleon for a 4:00 doubleheader.

Today the JV baseball and softball teams are making up their canceled games from yesterday. They will play at home against Napoleon in a doubleheader at 4:00.

The golf team will make up their Cascades jamboree from yesterday on Thursday, April 9. They will travel to Lakeland Hill Golf Course for a 1:00 start.
